Window clips broken - anyone know the part number?

Post by Bryony84 »

I've had problems with my drivers window before, but on Saturday I accidently shut the door with the window down (which I try not to do), and there was an unhealthy sounding noise.

Tried to close the window and it went up but stopped about halfway and went down again. Managed to get it closed with one person pulling the glass up and the other holding the button.

Pretty sure this means the clips that hold the glass into the runner have broken so I'm going to the dealer today to get some more as I keep forgetting its broken and opening it! Does anyone know the part number for the clips?

Spoke to the stealers today and they said I'm going to need a whole new regulator as the clips are part of the runner. Anyone know if this is the case as its gonna cost me £60 and I could do without any more expense as I need 2 new tyres this month!

I took the door apart , to find mine where the same.

I got a drill and put holes in them , and used cable ties. Works a treat.

There was a photo about of how someone else thought of the idea - i think it was inder on this forum who done it.

There's GTI in Ring and Bring Scrappies in Lovedean. May be worth a try although there's not a lot left.

Tried ring and bring but they had already sold that part - got another one to try but not sure what my next option will be.

LEGENDS!!!!!!

Just taken off my door card to find a lil plastic bit snapped in the bottom of the door. Took around 5 mins to find where it came from, whipped a cable tie round it and its spot on now! 8) Cheers guys!
