7x16 & 8x16 - Any issues?

Post by JKM_GTI »

I might run some 7x16 & 8x16 on my Polo (6n2)

It’s down around 70mm at the moment; do you think I’ll have any problems running the 8x16’s on the rear?

The current ET is 53.2 but with adaptors I have it can either be 27.3 or 22.3. Tyre wise I guess I’d be best with 195/40’s?

Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers.

The 7's will be fine whatever the offset. Ideally et 22 would look better imo. Run the rears at et27 and it should be ok, you may need to raise a touch. And 195/40's would be ideal, try get some 175/45 or 175/50 for the front to equal the same stretch 8)

I'm lookin into similar wheel sizes...can you guys put some pics up from the rear and side to get an idea of how "comfortably" they sit under/in the arches?

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing some - I can't remember the guys name but he has a black GTI on silver D90's - Although I think he has since changed them.
