Well the polo's been re-sprayed

Post by vdubit »

Only a temporary coat, sprayed in gloss pure white 2k. Bumpers were aerosoled as I ran out of paint and wanted it one colour for e38. From this coat we've been able to see any imperfections in the work thats been carried out. Few minor (and i mean minor) things to rectify, then we can lay down the alfa base white, followed by a few coats of the alfa pearl. Then several coats of high solids laquer to make it gleam.

What dya all think?

stunning! I think the red trim around the grill would really set it off.
they should have produced a white 6n2 gti

Cheers, i agree they should've made one in white, makes the car look so fresh. Regarding the red stripe, it faded to orange so i ripped it off, havent got round to putting it back on yet, shall do one day this week though.

Spotted your car at E38 yesterday and I was explaining to the missus how you'd done the work yourself and what was going on etc. Looks really good in white!

Looks good, needs the black stripes though as in the photoshop. Also I'd lower it a tad more and polish up the wheels. Looking a tad rough at the moment, needs the gleam :)

Alright Andy, car looks real good in the white.

I noticed the arch and bumper don't meet up 100% on the passenger side I think it was, and that you'd sprayed the black rubber around the fuel cap (would have looked better left black) :)

Look forward to seeing it with the Alpha though 8)

Looked good at E38 - had a good look at your arches because even after arch rolling, my rears scrub a bit with people in the back!
