engine wont rev above 5000 rpm

as above but does not stall it just wont go past 5000rpm at all. please help no engine management light on no fault codes. what can it be?

From reading those two other threads (started by the same person) it seems possible that your problem could be related to a dodgy crankshaft speed sensor, which can cost £50-60.

Also plugs and leads can be a good place to start, but seen as yours won't go above 5000rpm it sounds more like the speed sensor.

Its usually protecion type system, where it intenionally stops the engine revving high. I'v had it before a few times when i had the 8v engine, but i just turned her off and kicked it back into action....sorted! 8)

check your air filter, if there is no warning light it may be your engine can't get enough air to rev past there

got it all sorted the plug was off the cam sensor.
