well basically, you use vag com to put them into learning mode. From that point you set the level they should be at normally and then learning mode finishes. From that point on, the new level is the reference point, and teh car adjusts the headlights up and down as per its orientation if that makes sense

VAG COM is a program used to diagnose and clear faults/change settings in the ECU. VW use it as do audi, seat, skoda etcetc

Its an incredibly powerful program, and can really mess your car up if you dont take care with it lol

You go into the module for electrical, then lighting, and in the box type 55 and hit enter. It then loads up the config for that controller. Just have a play there isnt much you can do in electrics anyhow :)

I think what you're wondering is what do you use to use VAG-COM - You'll need a tool from a company such as Ross-Tech which then plugs into the Interface in the Ashtray (Next to the Cigarette Lighter the tray pulls out and underneath is the interface). Check out Ross-Tech.com for some info. I'm sure Alex will let you know where to buy one.

EBay they are like a fiver. Just search for VAG COM CAN BUS cable :)

To be honest, it would be easier to just go to a dealer lol let them do the hard work!

Seconded, at least if they do it wrong you just have to go back and make them sort it. They don't always charge people.

For example, I paid nothing but Si_GTi was charged. Seems like they make it up as they go along.

I think it depends on which person you talk to - go direct to a mechanic round the back and your more likely to get it free than to go through service
