Post by david burton »

Well, "new" to me.

Found a mkiv 16v with 26k miles on the clock. It's mint. So I bought it!

I always wanted one of those growing up. It is the famous smoked rear lights that did it for evert teenager. Nice one mate

bl00dy internet modem went bust over the weekend - couldn't reply!

sorry 'bout that. how rude of me.

oh aye - proper upgrade. Such a nice motor to drive. It's pretty mint apart from one stone chip on the rear NS wing. So he knocked an extra £100 off and I was happy! Very happy with the service - mile hill garage in Mansfield. It was advertised for 5000 but got it for 4400 in the end.

Anyhow, have been seeing what it can do - it's so frustrating waiting for it to get warmed up  but I am loving it. 'nough said really, I guess most of you guys know for yourselves! Anyhow it's the quickest car I've had.

Funny thing was - I parked up my new car at my house, then my neighbour arrived 2 mins later and I sold my old 1.0L to him! How lucky - his car had been taken to the scrapper that morning (unlucky for him)?!

P.S. Cheers for the positive responses

gotta take the side bump strips off next (done the rear badges already), and maybe colour code the rear vw badge :) I saw a thread about it a while back, nice idea!

Nice colour - is that Pacific Blue?

Get them over 4000 rpm and they're real fun!

Yeah I think that's the one (I should check really!). A metallic mid-blue.

It's frustrating in the morning - got to let it warm up before I can rev it, but I'm almost at work by the time I can... :) It's only a 7 mile trip, not good for it!

p.s. got my modem working again! hooray for telewest!
