Weird Engine trouble

hi every1,

last saturday night on my way home i stopped off in a car park for a feg, i had just cleaned the polo so didn't want ash all over the interior, c. When i got back in restarted engine, it started but the accelerator didn't work, it wouldnt rev, was just just ticking over. it puzzled me, turned engine off and back on again, luckily it just about started and all was normal again.

Anyone else experienced anything like this, its a 1.2

Maybe this is caused becouse the brake was on?
In the new Polos you can't brake and accelerate at the same time. It is a protection,I think.
So maybe your brake was on? It happened me once that my brake didn't stoped braking. I mean the light didn't turned off. Maybe it is what happened to you!

Do you have cruise control? If the cruise control is now set up properly, it can trigger this problem.

No, i dont have Cruise control, im stil none the wiser, i also tried to accelerate with my foot on the brake and found that it wasn' the problem, i'm thinkin that the safety thing isn't featured on either manual or uk cars
ah well, hasn't happened since.
