Lowering

How much can i lower my Polo 9n (2003) by without having to get new shocks or coilovers? i heard lowering 30-40mm would be alright without having to get new shocks.

Is this right?

P.S i will have 17inch alloy wheels too, if that makes any difference

on 17s, 30-40mm drop will be fine where you jut change the springs (no new shocks required).
some people will go upto 60mm on coilovers with 17inch rims!

I'd recommend 20-30mm to maintain some decent ride.
