An Old GTi To A New GTi???

Post by Silva_B!tch_Owner »

Well been thinking about it for awhile and now I am considering part exchanging my W Reg Polo GTi in Silver 3 doors, previous service history, recently had new clutch and a gearbox rebuild, 57k millage.

What sort of price do you think VW offer in part exchange for a new or used new Polo GTi?

I just want less hassle and would also love a new car as I've never owned my own "new" car since I been driving.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutly love the GTi, but I want some hassle free driving for awhile, im paranoid driivng it as it'll break down and after the recent gearbox rebuild and new clutch i'm just waiting for something else to hit me in my pocket HARD!

VW will give you 3k at a max. They wont like the 57k cars over 40k get sold off to their resellers - sell it privately....youll make much more!!!

4k I'd say. It is a W reg but low miles considering it's age.

I'd be more inclined to agree with Alex, I can't see VW giving 4k for it.

My bro is only getting £3500 for his 52 plate Astra SRi Turbo (1 of 500) at Vauxhall.

VW offered me £2.5k for mine in part-ex against a 9n3 Polo GTI. You can get £4k-4.5k privately.

You may want hassle free but why else would you consider not getting more cash for it when you know you can. Selling private is the best way to go I say, not like the car won't shift from your hands.
