Rising damp in passenger footwell!

Hmmm...

They say it all comes in threes hey

• dented a BBS rim...
  ... found a nail in my (nearly flat) rear right tyre today...
  ... and now rising damp in the passenger footwell!!

Anyhoo... so I have increasingly damp carpets in the left front footwell and the damp obviously extends underneath the carpet too. It is nearer the seat and not wet towards the front of the car underneath the dashboard.

I did a quick search through the forum but nothing conclusive found. Is it possible that the rear wash-wipe hose has split somewhere? Does this hose run under the left-hand side of the car?

Any help and/or thoughts appreciated as always...

Haven't gotten around to seriously looking at this problem as yet other than drying out the passenger footwell, but noticed today that when I got into the car at lunch time, the windows on the driver's side of the car were all steamed up with condensation on the inside of the glass!

Think I will be taking a good look at this issue at the weekend thanks for the link Ollie

I had a big problem with condensation on the inside as well last winter. I noticed when using the demister, the whole windscreen would be covered in condensation!

It'd be a good idea to use a wet+dry vac to suck up the remaining water, and use a dehumidifier to make sure everything has gone. Then give the interior a good detail, and it may be a good idea to use one of those air conditioning cleaners you get in Halfords to make the car smell nice and neutral.

Whipped all the mats out this morning and the portion of the rear nearside (passenger) floor mat that sits underneath the front seat is damp as buggery
