 I don't mind him trying to sell me the cameras, just as long as he doesn't try the extended warranty

Only joking Dan :D

All the advice is appreciated.

hehe tis ok, i would just be doing my job  our extended warranty also covers accidents ya know

both cameras are good and both are £300 in the shop but both are cheaper online! having held both aswell, they are quite comfortable to hold, but it all depends on how you feel with them!

your best bet is to go into a camera shop like Jessops or Comet and just hold some of the cameras and see which one feels the best!

seems ok mate, good spec, practically the same spec as the Panasonic.
i think the Panasonic would be a better bet (the FZ18) as it has a top quality Leica lense to boot!

 cant get the stock, let alone the staff!

we've got the FZ18 Pana at our store, plus the Sony H7 and the cheaper Panasonic, just not the £300 Fuji!

Bit far to drive though Dan

I went in the Bedford store and they've only got the FZ8.

Might check Curry's later, then if they've got it get them to price match Comet :D

my advice is don't get hung up on megapixels, it means pretty much bugger all past 5 megapixels.

5 good quality mp is way way better than 9 from an average lens. in fact, the 5 megapixels will print out a lot better.

If you aren't going to print about A3, even 3mp is ok.

so basically, don't let megapixels sell you a camera.

The mp doesn't doesn't bother me too much Dave, tbh I'm happy with the pics my folks camera takes and that's a 4 I think.

I'm thinking about it Dan

Not sure as though I'd have learnt how to use it by then. It will be very good for Nurburgring next year :D
