But you can get 165/45/15 bridgestone potenza's, these would be ideal any one know where i can source some of these from?

dude if your wheels are 6j wide 45s are the ONLY way to go!! 50s are way to bulky and like you said, rub like s***

Well i've been on clubpolo and i've changed my mind about tyres, i'm going to go with the 165/50/15 bridgestone potenza's, Here's the thread if anyone's intrested http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.p ... opic=82414 got some pics there aswell of how they would look on a 6J wheel

got a couple of small updates...

got the black badges back on finally..





Miss the chrome front badge to be honest





Got some new centre caps for my wheels...




Also got a sticker which i thought would be appropriate for my bonnet bra get loads of confused looks and questions so thought this sticker is perfect...



only problem is i'm undecided on where to stick it on my bonnet bra...
to one side slanted?

In the middle?

near the top to one side?


Any ideas would be appreciated

And my dilemna, i want to try something different with my front grill, so i got hold of a black slatted grill... here's a couple of pics





I want to see how a black badge would look on there, could someone please do a photoshop of a black badge on there with the bonnet closed please, undecided on whether i'm going to keep it or not

any feedback & ideas would be appreciated

It looks like it's all coming together nicely

The front end with the slatted grille and chrome badge looks razor-sharp, all the straight lines all add up and make the front end look stunning. Keep the slatted grille and chrome badge! I actually prefer it over the GTI grille and black badge

The sticker on one side, slanted on the bra would look great. The other options don't really work as well.

The wheels look nice and shiny as well.

Oh, and before I go, how are you getting on with the Wolfgang sealant? Easy to apply/remove?

Thanks Tom, that's perfect wanted to be sure that it would look ok before i went ahead and starting chopping, i think it looks ok, but still prefer the gti grill, might try it out for a couple of weeks to see what everyone thinks of it. Oh and if i colour coded my grill, i would be right back to step 1 as my car came with one colour coded but i sold it

Oh, and before I go, how are you getting on with the Wolfgang sealant? Easy to apply/remove?

I still haven't applied it yet i have polished it though and water comes flying back at me when i wash it, because it repels it so well. was thinking of applying some of this first http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.p ... ntry926814
collinite kit 3, but i don't know if i can be asked, polishing it by hand was hard enough and i've been told that those electric buffers aren't very good still needs another coat of something though before winter sets in!

Oh and dan got a quick question for you, i have been looking at the seat ibiza tdi tailpipes and thought that looks just about right, do you know if the tips can be bought seperately from the dealers?

one last question, does anyone know if a plastic welder would be able to tidy up the top of the grill where i cut it? so it looks totally flush?

as far as i'm aware, the tips cannot be bought on their own, mine came attached to the pipes from the back box, which is just the tdi fr backbox which was a straight swap for the one on my car!

What's up with your front bumper? It's very reflective around the side, but where the number plate recess is it seems to be fairly matt. Apart from that it's looking very good!

No idea why that is, i've only just noticed now looking back at the pictures as well, even went outside to have a look because you got me so paranoid but looks the same all the way around, probably just the way it catches the light

They're ok, just make sure you have them greased up with plenty of copper grease though to stop them from seizing up. I have to say they are better than my suspension kit as i can throw it into the corners faster and the car will still be stable but can be a bit bumpy at times
