My car was as good as sold until last night when the buyer told me they couldn't buy it anymore. Unfortunately the replacement car will be ready from the dealers next week so I need to sell the Polo as quickly as possible.
Options:
1. Sell as it is, provide all original parts except standard wheels in the sale.
2. Put the car completely back to standard and try to part ex it with my new car.
3. Put everything back to standard except the suspension and sell privately.
i'd try sticking it on pistonheads as it is mentioning that you can include original parts, see if you get a sale asap, sorry to hear it fell through , hopefully you will find a buyer asap...just DONT stick it on ebay
you do get alot of that on ebay, i almost tried buying a black gti off ebay a while back only to find the guy was located in germany along with the car and wanted to ship it over when payment was recieved...yeah right!
But a classified should be alright, as long as you go through the usual private sale method and none of this paypal rubbish
I'd see what the Dealers will offer you for part ex, both as standard and as is - at least that way it will give you a guide for the least money that you should expect to get for it.
Personally I would advertise on autotrader as standard - although it is hit and miss as to whether or not you'll get a result, but you're much more likely to get what it is worth that way.
that sucks bryony! I did hear from the buyer that he couldnt get the insurance. If only i could afford a GTi I worked out that after selling my car and putting in a bit of dosh id probably only be able to stretch to £3800, I know thats no good for you, but if only it where a few months later on.
Bottom line was he didn't do his research properly, thought he could get insurance much cheaper than he could - think he just got carried away. Just got to hope that the dealer will hang on to the car I want til I can get the Polo sold!
yeah that would lower the price alot, cant you just swap the wheels and most other parts for standard? surely there are people out there willing to do it?
the cars done nicely so its not necessarily gonna get a low price! try the options you listed, see what part exchange prices you can get for it standard, and with mods (except the rear lights remember )
