Jesus

How old are you Alun?

Mine's about £1500 at the mo, until renewal time when I'm hoping for a healthy drop!

I'm 20 .. 21 next March. The problem is I don't have any no claims bonus. Well, in theory I have almost 3 years, but I've been down as a named driver. Hopefully I'll see some improvement next year

I know it's alot, but it was the cheapest quote I could get. Most places said they wouldn't insure me until I was 21 'cause it was a GTi

"What engine is it?"

"1.6 16V"

"Is it a CL, GLX .."

"GTi"

"Oh .. we can't insure you on that until you're 21"

I can't see the logic there 'cause they were ready to do it right until I mentioned the letters GTi.

Be careful with Brentacre though if you decide to pay monthly.

Because you could borrow £1400 with a £300 deposit for example. Only use the car for 2 months at say...£100 for arguments sake...and then you still have to pay off the £1200 no matter what!

I was lucky with my old G that I only had about 1 half months left...But i was well annoyed....I can see the point though, that they had lent that amount of money so obviously want it back....

But...un-ethical! :(

That's who I'm with  . I tried haggling with them and did manage to get nearly £100 off the original quote they gave me, but as I didn't have any no claims they wouldn't go any cheaper.
