Wow! Another new 9n owner  Welcome to the forum!

Right , to remove the standard radio (which I assume is a beta, not that it'll make a difference) you need to order two of this part number from your dealership...

4D0 051 530 (X2)

...they're not cheap (about £10 for two) but thats what you need to do the job anyway :) If your down South I can lend you my set at the next Southern meet? Or you can save a little by ordering from Martyn @ VAG Parts (see bottom forum) but you'll probably pay what you save in postage.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Erm...

What is that part? i.e What does it do?

Does this mean I cant plug my stereo in at all yet? (or get the otherone out)?

have you got a photo of the release holes?

a piece of metal wire shaped right can sometimes be used instead

hope that helps

Yes, they are indeed release tools. I'm 99% sure they are unique to VW/Audi...

It's probably best to do it with vw ones but if you've ever seen sony removal ones (look like long thin metal sticks) they too can get it out when shoved down those thin holes so anything like that should get the stereo out.....however i did get these sticks stuck in the radio....though without causing damage my gf did get them out!! :D

hi all.

I have now put the sony bracket and stereo in.

one problem. The dam thing dosnt stay on when you pull the key out like my old polo :(

Is there a quick fix so that I can change the wiring?!
