How do I open the engine cover under the bonnet!?? (9N)

Ive tried looking for screws and bolts over my cover, but nothing seems to be there.

Its a POLO 9N model and I have no idea how to open it as I want to install my induction kit.

Can anyone shed any light?

If the cover looks totally flat (just the one molded piece of plastic), don't be afraid to just pull it off, if there are round covers on top take them off as there will be nuts underneath.

At the back of the cover is a load of piping. I'm not sure of what it's for but you need to undo the piping before the cover will come off.

I've said this before;

Induction kits on VW's are a complete waste of time. If you buy from reputable suppliers they will advise you against buying one.

The standard airbox is fine, if you want additional performance from it, try adding a K&N panel filter or green filter. There are even internal mods that you can do to the standard airbox to improve airflow. You don't know what sort of cr4p is being dragged into the engine by using an induction kit.

I have installed a Viper Piper Cross Induction kit. Its got a really loud and nice noise when you rev the car!

Actually, I phoned up the place I bought the Induction kit from, they said I have to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU for around 30 mins.

Thats when things should start to improve. They said altho there is a lot of Hot air under the bonnet, it wouldnt affect it that much as i already have a cold air inlet feed.

I will upload some pics this weekend to show you what I have done.

Sorry the pics are late guys! but heres what I have done

There are two cold air feeds from the vent to the air filter. It has slighty improved the performance of the car. I get more torque and better acceleration, I have lost an average of 7MPG.

I think I will keep the kit

From ages ago, I think it was 100hp, but is it the 16V?

Doesn't look it's twin cam, plus no coil packs! (Probably a benefit with VW
