Stubby Aerial

Post by MateyGuv »

Thought this link may be helpful for people wanting an enfig type perfect fit stubby aerial - works out about £11 delivered from USA. Good reports about them in general, just ordered one for myself

Looks good...the only thing that worries me is when they say

'Radio reception may be slightly affected in some areas.'

I'm hoping its only a general disclaimer just in case. I'v ordered one anyway - its only 11 quid. There is loads of posts about them somewhere on that mazda3 forum but I cant find the link anymore. Mostly very positive comments. I'm taking the gamble and if it works well saving myself a bit of money on a proper enfig. If it doesnt work I'll have a novelty nose picking device LOL

Finally got it in the post - its tiny!! Fits perfectly and gives great reception so far, not really gone for a long enough drive for a full test though. The pic shows standard, s2000 and enigma

My drive to work tomorrow will test the reception properly, will let you know

I've got a genuine VW Sharan one, which i assume 'enigma' copied or something

It DOES affect reception, but only when you are in weak signal areas. Most of the time its fine.

andy works for vw so im assuming he got his on site

and in fairness, i would expect to lose a little on reception too with something so small, it looks great, but wont be quite as practical

Just got back from a long drive and test with this enigma aerial and I'm a little dissapointed to be honest. Radio 1 is good everywhere I went, but I normally listen to Kiss in the morning and the reception at best is OK. Well looks like I got a novelty nose picking device after all LOL! Suppose its ok for the major radio stations but near useless for anything else - no chance for pirate stations. Gonna have to find me an enfig me thinks
