more gear/pedal box drama but a lil help please people..

ive recently purchased my gti about 3 months ago and found out on the weekend that my gear box is finished and that my pedal box has a crack so im lookin at the best part of a grand.... the the car has apparently had a re con gear box and has already been to vw for the pedal box re call.... my problem is that i have no proof of any of this and i dont know how to find out.... im in need of documents for warranty/guarantee purposes....
also are u only allowed to bring the car to vw for ONE re call on the pedal box.... and the guy i bought the car off now lives abroad so contact is near impossible.
i have 2 seperate places to carry out each job (only due to a mate working in one place) but which problem takes priority..
any help would be much appreciated...

Check in the boot, lift up the carpet and somewhere underneath there should have been a sticker put in from when the pedal re-call had been done.

cant really help with the gearbox issue im afraid,

Failing that i'm sure you can ring VW up and quote your chassis number to them and they can check?

At least I hope you can cos thats what i need to do!

VW should be able to tell you if the pedal box has been done from the registration number.

That was how I confirmed mine had been done previously.

if it hasnt been done, can you just go ahead and get it done? Or do you have to have a reason to get it done i.e go there complaining about something that would suggest its going?
