Bloody Ebay

Post by M@Turner »

Whats all that about that people can enter an amount to bid on an item then decide, "actually i don't wanna pay that much" and retract their bid! When entering an amount it tells you to confirm your bid, so you can make sure you aint mis - typed it...but it appears you can still retract your bid and say you mis-typed it as a valid reason to cancel your bid!!!   Then to make it worst, the second highest bidder decided they wanted to retract their bid too!

I am not happy in the slightest.

Sorry for the rant!!! :(

i know what you mean - it is damned annoying. If people place a bid, they should think about it prior!!

What did it happen on if i may ask?

They should only be allowed to retract the bids if they are way over ie. £100million for something worth £1.

You can report it to eBay however if you feel the bidders have abused the Bid Retract option http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/bid-retract.html though what good that'll do I'm not sure.

eBay are surprisingly good with people who abuse the rules - they ban them from ever using ebay again in quite a few different ways. Read a case about it on a forum a while back where some guy got done for fraud!

Cheers for replies guys. I reckon the first person who retracted their bid, bid a certain amount to find out the reserve!!! Then the second person retracted theirs cause people would then know what his maximum bid was!!!

What the chances of ebay actually doing somet about it though!?? :?

I think regardless of how likely eBay are to do something, you should contact them and report the two who retracted their bids, as it can't hurt to try.

yeah this pisses me off, it puts people off bidding as well although ebay wont do bugger all about it, a mate of mine was a complete c**t and ripped loads of people off, ebay banned his account for a year...so he opened another one...

Run up to Christmas possibly isn't the best time to be selling them.

I bought mine in late December couple of years back, reckon they would have been more a couple of months later.
