Hmm i think maybe domed LEDs would work better - like the ones in my sidelights par example. You really want to acheive a cluster look, and projected LEDs may be the only way - otherwise youll just be lighting up the lens with a brighter bulb, creating the same result, just more intense.

Not convinced it is....

The LED only produces a very narrow frequency band of light (in this case red)...So although it may appear slightly dull in the photo, in reality its spanking out a lot more red light than the bulb...

Ditto - Mega bright - and you can see the patern of the dots really easy.

I will need to take a photo @ Dusk to see the full effect - also the photos are from my k800i lol so didnt really help.

Im really happy with the outcome !!
