Just had TDI re-mapped at Jabba Sport......Oh my god!!!!!

Post by spudracker »

To start the day off i drove 2 hours to get to Jabba Sports location. Thinking all the way down, hope all this travelling is gunna be worth it!
Once i arrived the lovely woman on reception took my keys from me and said..make yourself at home. Which i did, plugged the XBox in, got myself a coffee and settled in for a few hours on the many XBox games.
Couple hours into it i got peckish, asked the receptionist if there was a shop nearby. With this she give the the keys to Loan car and pointed me in the direction of the shop.
On my return from the shop, the techy who was sorting my car came in.
"how much power ya want out of this Polo"
I replied "Why what ya got so far?"
"154" He laughted!
"i only normally get about 147ish max out of these 1.9's"He said"its a bloody got motor this one"
"Best leave it at that then" I grinned.
"Ya best take it for a test drive"

Which i did..
Drove it out of the yard and floored it..1st spinning,2nd spinning and ***k me 3rd span too....

Couldn't beleive it!!!! Its like a new car!!!!

They gave me a printout when i paid.
153.7 hp @3641rpm/382 nm torque @2276rpm!!
All this for a £475.

Anyone thinking about getting a re-map, do yourself a favour and get to
Jabba Sport!!!

Yeah standard 1.9 PD TDI 2002.
I know couldn't beleive it myself...don't think the Techy could either!
I read you were going for another re-map Dave?
Ya can't go wrong with them..and No i'm not on comission
They have been doing VW's for as long as i can remember.
You just have to look in their waiying room to see all the Trophies and stuff.

is that 100 standard, or more?

where did you read that I was thinking of another remap?!

I'd like to see the rolling road printout and look at the torque curve at the wheels :)

edit: amazed you can spin it in third, we talking about on the flat, in the dry?

SORRY guys. Must have listed it in the wrong model model
Can i change it the MKVI Forum?
Dave think the post about you must have been an old one. I was searching for info on re-maps before i got mine done.
I will try and put the graph in a post when i get to work on Monday, cant do it from home.
The wheels span after i can out of the muddy yard at Jabba. They were a little wet and muddy. It just shocked me thats all. I would have struggled before to do that on the grass never mind a road!!

What happened to yours ceedbya?? I take it Jabba dropped a ball***?
If they did hope they sorted it for ya?

ah this all makes sense now, I was confused and thought "how the hell did a mkiv get that power!"

you'll have to get admin to move the post

sounds good though. I'm not going to get another remap but the urge for more power is always biting at me!

get a 30-70mph in 3rd gear vid posted up - on the flat please ;)

Soz about all the confusion with this post

Did a quick 0-60 run today...9.1.
But it was in the wet and i'd only been out of bed half hour or so

Gunna do some vids next wek hopefully. The 30-70 is 100 times better than it was pre-re-map.

i seen 1st hand how a few good mates were treated by jabba and steered well clear

they were jabba fans thru and thru and were treated like dirt when things went wrong, amongst my mates no one respects jabba anymore, they used to be top blokes but all they want now is easy money and aint interested in the customer

glad to hear yours went well tho
