going by the title i think he knows its single point injection! but your right, in fact a whole late spec polo 1.3 head, inlet and t/b (the late spec 1.3 t/b is bigger than the old ones, in fact its the same as the golf one, only it need no modding to fit) will fit on with ease and give really good gains esp with a gt cam fitted. have a look over on polo3.co.uk cos there is a whole load of posts on tuning the mighty 1 litre.

yea i know what im talking about, i was going to put a 1.3 inlet on it with a mk1 1.8 8v golf carb, changing the fuel pump is nothing thats easy to me.
im currently helping my mate with a corrado make it 4wd with tt rear limited slip diff and a 1.8 20v turbo engine and we have had to make engine mounts diff mounts etc.

might be worth investing in a mk2 polo for bits? still think bike carbs would be a better option though than the golf carb (i take it that its a pooburg and not the weber direct replacement)
there was a guy on clubpolo who ran a mk4polo 1600 small block on bike carbs in a mk2 polo shell, it sounded the dogs! went well too according to the owner

the aav is practically the same bar the bottom end (if its the 1.3 spi that i think it is!), so thats the only bit you would need to change, although saying that the ecu runs a different map and the head/inlet manifold might are larger on the 1.3. the loom stays the same
for the work i still think you would be better off fitting a 1.3 manifold, gt cam and late spec polo 1300spi throttle body. you could also use the 1.3 ecu as a cheap way to remap it. match the head ports to the inlet manifold ports and you should see around 60bhp, 5 more than a std 1.3spi, plus its a shorter stroke so will fly.
if you are set on an engine swap the 1.6 out of skoda/mk4 polo running polo gt injection system is by far the best option, although an alternative block would be the 1.4 derv engine found in some mk3 polos and the seat terra van (its used by some g40 owners as its a very strong lil engine, plus you would still get cheap tax!)
