reset service indicator without vag com?

does anyone know if there is a way to reset the service indicaror without vag com? mine is due an oil service which i will do myself, but do i have to get someone with vag com to reset the service indicatoe (flashes up oil service) on my previous vag cars i have been able to do this by pressing certain buttons in sequence (although they did have a maf) anyone know if it can be done?
