Indeed. Quantum Synta Gold, which is a fully synthetic longlife oil is £55 for 5 litres, which is fairly decently priced. Once on fully synthetic though, it does have to stay that way. I have a mate who chose to learn that the hard way!

You gotta love the halfords trade card!!

Too right, its a beautiful thing, that (plus helps some of staff are friends and one or 2 run VWs (one runs a collection of VW's - a Caddy, early Mk2 Golf GTI, Mk1 Golf GTI with a G60 Engine from a Corrado in Baby blue, another Mk1 with a 2L Engine (number of mods), etc) and the nice peeps at Euro Car Parts.
Also agree, definitely sticking to Synthetic Oils for mine :)

what happens if you go from fully to party synthetic then? i dont know what my car has in it as i dont know what the previous owner used, :) so should i use fully synthetic oil just incase thats what it has been on? can i do any damage swiching over to fully synthetic?

You wont do any damage switching to it, but switching back could cause some issues as full synth made of non mineral compounds where as semi synth contains some.

If the car has a VW FSH itll be a semi synth 10w40 oil for sure.
