The colour is Medium Metallic Blue, code LA5T.

I didnt want the whole bumper colour coded as leaving the top bit black matches really nicely with the rest of the GT kit.

What sort of trim is that then optima? Is it really flat?

yeah its flat enough, kinda like a flattened D dection its 12mm wide x 4mm deep, so I need to narrow it down on a milling machine as a router will go too fast and melt the plastic in it. It cost less than £8 for 5 metres so its cheap enough to play with, and it will easilt go round a 1" radius

im getting the bumpers painted at the end of the month, what is the best way to go about it:

1. get the paint "colour matched"
2. get the paint form the colour code?

was gonna match the front wings for the front bumper, and the rear pannel for the rear bumper, the only reason im askin is coz i thouhg the car was stratos blue metalic, but i got the spray, sprayed a door handle, (spare one i had) and it came out ALOT darker, so does this mean my paint has faided, or are there a few shades of stratos blue???

From what I've learned from talking to bodyshop fellas, the name of the paint doesn't say it all. For instance, my 'Dragon Green' has changed shades over the years (at least, that's what they claimed). So getting the paint code is a good idea in any situation.

That being said - it's possible that the paint on your car has in fact faded, and you're probably better off getting an expert's opinion (talk to a local painter/bodyshop) to find out what paint you need exactly.

I've yet to see a decent example, I've got a Euro look grey one and one scanned out of Max Power in 1997. Both grey, both with half c/c bumpers but neither look anything like how my car would look. The Max Power one had big corner diffusers on the bumper and grey rear lights so it was too grey, and the Euro one had a massive badboy bonnet.

I'm tempted to chance it, but it depends how much actually repairing the car costs.

I think yours would look great with 1/2 cc bumpers, Alex. Go for it, if you can afford to.

I'm hoping to get mine done eventually, just too many other things to do before bodywork.

i think u shud put a little beading in the gap, thats what most do if ur only doing half, or leave it black, coz its the breaking point in the bumper?!
