Has any1 done a rear brake upgrade on there gti!
Problem is ive done the 280m g60 upgrade and now the rear brakes just looks tiny!
Was wondering if the rear g60 brake would work the same way the front conversion does (keep the same calipers just use the caliper brakets and disks?)
Any info or idears would great !
Probably isn't really worth it as most braking is done at the front. When my rear pads and discs went they were replaced and the braking felt exactly the same
i've always thought this, if i ever went for the front disc upgrade, but agree with Mouse it wouldnt make much of a difference, just purely for looks. Surely theres some cheap bigger discs out there that fit and at least match the quality of the stock small ones?>
Well 2problems with using the front setup on the rear!
Firstly my gti calipers r still on the front of my gti as i just used the g60 caliper brackets and disks and kept all the gti bits!
Secondly the front caliper maywell fit on the rear (with a bit of work) but then what would u use as a handbreak????
The only budget way i can think of doing it would be 2 find a vag car that uses the same rear break setup but with a larger disk (just like the g60/gti setup on the front)

Why upgrade if they do bugger all anyway... spend the money you would spend on *Looks* to do something that would *LooK* better like smoothing bumpers etc..

but when people know they are pointless you look LAME!
big ones at the front are enough for me
i dont think it'd make you look lame at all...
anyway - isnt it fairly well agreed that the 280mm brake upgrade gives no real gain in brake performance compared to standard gti ones? only better resistance to fading?
does that make everyone thats done the upgrade lame?
