Removing rear carpet

Post by andyg »

There is a similar thread on this topic, but my problem is quite different so I have made a new post.

My rear washer pipe is leaking water in the footwell of the rear passenger seat (nearside) I need to pull the carpet up and access the pipe. How do I do this? Do I need to remove the rear door cards?

VW quoted £120.00 which I think is a rip-off considering its a design fault.

To remove the rear carpet, you need to take the seats (both base and back out) in the rear, as well as the doorcards.

You need to remove the screws in the panels...if i remember correct there is two, then it just pulls off carefully. The seats youll need a flat blade screwdriver to prise the release mechanism out so the seats can be removed. If you look at it, youll see what im going on about.
