ADVICE PLEASE - Bulbs for front indicators/dipped beam??

Post by JDism »

Hi all and Happy New Year,

I want to upgrade/improve the look of my front indicator bulb and the low/dipped beam bulb!!
I want to get rid of the yellow effect on the front indicator bulb and I want a clearer/blue effect on the low beam!!

Can anyone help?

What bulbs have you guys upgraded to and what look did you get?Where did you get them from??

Many thanks as always,

JD

www.hids4u.co.uk for the dipped - its a D2S bulb, and you want it in either a 6000 or 5000k colour.

As for the indicators, osram diadems are usually the preferred choice - www.powerbulbs.co.uk for that ;) PY21W is the bulb and it has offset pins if you choose an alternative.

if yours is a gti then you should have hid bulbs for the dipped beam which shoud already appear clear/blue and be around 4300k colour temperature. you can increase the temperature anywhere from 5000k - 12000k but they will only give off a slightly different colour (4000k for white, 5000k - 6000k for blue and getting up t0 1000k - 12000k for purple) they will not give you any more brightness, in fact the higher the colour temp the less bright they will be, so around 4000k - 4500k is the brightest, and should be what you already have. and as these bulbs cost £99 each (well from the dealer anyway ) and are increadibly fragile, i wouldnt bother replacing until one blows (which mine did a couple of weeks ago. there is another thread with all the bulbs i replaced but didnt do the indicaters) if they are not hid then they are H7 bulbs and the osram nightbreakers are very good, i used a seller called leading lamps on ebay for a good price, free blue side lights, and a 10% discount on further purchases. was a fiddly job though but worth it. hope this helps. :D
