I currently park my car in a not so secure area (unfortunately)
I'm curious to how theif resistant our Polos are. I was under the impression that because they have an immobiliser that is only de-activated by the chip that is in the keyfob, the car is very difficult to steal without the keys.
Is this still the case or have theives got better at nicking the cars. It's usually a constant struggle between the manufacturers and the thieves.
Any ideas?

Reality is, newer cars with immobilisers are more difficult to steal, so you are less likely to be the target of opportunist thieves. TOMV and TWOC are more common on older cars that can be nicked in a matter of seconds. However, as 1GTI says if someone wants it, chances are they will get it, pro thiefs will know a way around all the factory fit systems and the majority of aftermarkets.
You are more likely to be the victim of criminal damage and Theft from motor vehicle (TFMV), ie lost stereos, high value property from within the car.
