New Polo GT owner

Post by rubber »

hi guys,
just to let you know I have recently purchased a 2005 Polo Gt tdi 130.
very nice car.

Previously had a polo 1.9 tdi sport 2003, it was 100bhp standard but the guy I bought it off had it remapped to approx 135-140bhp from a firm called chipboost in scarborough.
Have spoken to this guy at chipboost and he will remap the gt for me for £170 to give around 165bhp.

anyone used chipboost?

I want to get this car remapped but dont wanna kill any clutches or flywheels!!
what do you guys recommend.
i dont wanna be paying lots of money though?

welcome to the forum!
i have the ibiza with the same engine and have looked at remaps quite alot (but still haven't got one  )

£175 for 35bhp gain is not a bad return, when you consider what some of the larger companies charge for similar gains (Custom Code and Revo charge like £400-500 for around 40-50bhp gain)

iwhat you gotta find out is if something does go wrong due to the remap, will there be any comeback or aftersales?

Hi rubber and welcome, good choice of car m8  got mine remapped to about 180 ish :D and when i do hammer it i do get some clutch slip now and again so i`m going to have to get an uprated clutch soon, so if you don`t want to uprate your clutch get a sensible remap imo

as long as your sensible then 160-165 isn't too much of an issue.
