HOW AND WHY DOES THIS KIND OF THING HAPPEN!

Post by Tim_GTi »

trying to change my sidelights and full beams without taking off the bumper, turning into an absolute 'mare!!

first off all this is the only day i can do it and it hasnt stopped raining! so i've had to half park my car in my tiny garage, yet water is still getting in :?

an hour in and i've finally got the back headlight covers off,

The H1 'powerblue' bulbs i've got for the full beams aint so blue, infact there worse than what i already have in, waste of time!!!

at least i've now got better LED sidelights though.

WRONG!!! I've managed to drop one of the sidelights INSIDE my headlight!! Its just rattling around!!!!

i'm off to find a magnet that i doubt will work

can you take apart a GTi headlight?

I think it'll be a sealed lens so you'd have to heat it up in an oven to remove the lens.

and to do this you'll have to take it off. best to remove it and rattle it back out.

:(

DONE!!!!

i dunno how on earth i managed it,

i got a hollow tube and threaded some thin string down in so there was a loop at one end, with that i managed to lasso the sidelight and drag it bak out!!!

i cant believe it actually worked :D

took about three hours overall, didnt even use my new H1s, and the sidelights just werent worth all the hassle, what a day!
