My Xenon bulbs
After fitting new sidelights i've noticed this,
When i turn on my xenons, they match my LED white sidelights nicely,
However if you look at them again after about a minute, you notice that they've gone slightly yellow and dont quite match the sidelights?
Is this an indication that new bulbs are needed?
Plus would it be too much of a headache to move the 4300k factory fitteds xenons to my foglights,
and get a 6000k aftermarket HID kit for my main beams?

Sidelights are a 6000k match - thats why they look yellowy
You can uprate the bulbs by buying 6000k D2S bulbs from hids4u.co.uk
The fact xenons cannot be moved as the fogs are an H7 bulb, and have no space for HIDs whatsoever lol - theyd be just spare bulbs to keep.
Main beam HIDs are easy - ive done it and it works fantastically! You just need to pull one of the bulb holders out the headlight and turn it up the other way otherwise the bulb goes the wrong way up.

ah really how come?alexperkins wrote:It is a trial and error process mind you, so you may have to replace ballasts as well
Has anyone else changed other to 6000k bulbs with the OEM Gti ballasts, is there anything i need to look out for?
EDIT: i just found a thread where someone was having problems with the OEM ballasts firing up the aftermarket 6000k bulbs everytime, is this common?
