car shampoo

Post by jonners_gti »

which brand of car shampoo does everyone use?

my mrs got me a set of autoglym products for christmas, it has 100ml bottles of shampoo, glass cleaner, tar remover etc. only used the shampoo a couple of times but it seems to do a good job, leaves a nice shine etc.

however, i popped inot halfords today to get a new rear side light and was looking at the shampoo's. autoglym is twice the price of most of the others! does it make much difference which you use or do they all do a pretty decent job?

AutoGlam all the way for me too,

I'm not someone who has a massive arsenal of cleaning products, i keep things simple, wash it with shampoo regularly and keep it hoovered and smelling nice inside

autoglym or maguiars are both excellent products. thinking about claying the car when the weather improves to get rid of all those little nobbly bits you can feel on the paintwork ef you run your hand along it, especially on the lower sections. Anyone done it/recommend anything? have been looking at maguuiars clay, about £25 though! i used to work as a professional valeter for a (hut herm)vauxhall dealership! but this is not something i have done before, as we used other products/methods for removing tar spots and general hard road grime. thanks, sorry if its a bit of a tangent! i use autoglym shampoo by the way, and i would say that its important to follow the directions if dillution on the bottle. i.e. if it says 2 caps full to a bucket then stick to it as it will effect the results.

Meguiars Shampoo Plus. Amazing stuff and much better than any standard Meguiars/Autoglym stuff

I've been using Meguir's Gold Class Shampoo for a fair old while, have tried other products from other brands, but they don't tend to give as long a good result. Also use a range of other Meguir's and Autoglym products, just depends whats right for the job.

I always use a mixture of AG and Meguirs stuff. For shampoo it has to be the Autoglym, although can't really beat the Meguirs metal polish :)

my friend has used the clay on his fiesta before and you can tell the difference from a normal wash. really gets rid of some dirt and gives it a true shine afterwards!
