List Of Problems For My New 16V.........not happy

Post by Acemo »

ok, as some of you might know ive bought a 1.4 16v 100bhp beast, and ive had problems with it ever since, here we go:

first day i went to look at it the revs were going insane, so the nice asian man took it away and 'fixed' it

first day i got it home, shut the door and the window shatterd all over me, fixed that in a day

day after that i took it out for a drive, got to the town centre, engine died on me, fuel pump relay sensor blew up, uncle fixed that by swaping it from my old polo

day after that (last night) went for a random mission to preston, tried my passenger window, dosnt bloody work does it

nice one Volkswagen you really do make a top notch, realiable car

yey fjord blue! I have a touch up pen if you fancy it?

1) the window isn't the cars fault

2) the relay is a problem, fixed now so don't worry yourself

3) the window not working is the most common problem on the mk4. either take the door card off and tap the motor with a hammer, or whack the inner door grab handle at the lower screw point very hard. that'll get it working

Well what do you know, you defo got yourself a mk4! Could've guessed just by your problems lol

Anyway, I got the erratic rev issue too, any idea what the repaired? Engine dying is also an issue related to this problem so maybe the man didn't fix it.

You checked the engine oil? Mate your car sounds propa f***ed! Wouldn't it be worth your while taking it to a garage to service it?

The beeping stops and just the oil light flashes if you are less than 2000rpm you only get both if you are above 2000rpm

Read the handbook it recommends you stop driving it - I can't speak for your car but mine does it occasionally and it's probably* the oil pressure sensor shorting out due to damp

*Advice given as to "possible" cause - don't moan at me if you don't check it out properly and your engine siezes up

its just does it randomly, like i will be driving around for about five minutes and it will be fine, then it just start beeping and stop, then it will jsut be the light flashing, then it will all go, and then start beeping and flashing agen, 2 minutes later it will stop flashin, then 10 seconds later it will start doing it all again,

i dont think there is anything wrong with it, i reckon its just a faulty sensor, because ive driven it three times doing about 100 miles each time and (touch wood) the cars fine.

i will just have to take it to my uncle, and let him sort it out,

but its a complete p**s take that i just bought it and its started doing all this when i had my last 1.4cl i didnt have any problems with it what so ever

oh well i still love little berty the polo lol

Please don't take this the wrong way and it might seem like I am singling you out for critism - I'm not - but the txt spk type posts are frankly a crap way of communicating and just make people who post in that way look like "thickies"

Can you please use a language I can understand without having to fill in the gaps on words to make sense of it.....

If you have one of these then all the letters are in front of you

Remember one thing - you are asking for help and assistance - if people can't understand it they can't help
