165/45 15 Tyres
Are they the best size for an 8J wheel? I want optimum stretch! Anyone know where I can get some of these, or a rough price?
Having some problems sourcing them.
If not what about 165/50 15, or 195/45 15?

i wouldnt go for 165/50's it will knock your speedo out a bit, stick with 195/45's if i were you...they are best for a gti on 15's, if you want stretch go buy some staggered RM's
and alex kwik fit are a bunch of cocks, i dont know if i told you but when i got my RM's they refused to put 195/45's on even though the fronts were only 7J so not even any stretch, they said they couldnt believe i asked & it was extremely dangerous....the idiot then went on to tell me my whole driveshaft was buggered....not that the outerlip was slighly bent..stupid numpty

as shantybeater said kwikfit are cocks. i remember i went in there once about a year ago to get my wheel camber thingy set and cause it was out my tyres were worn so he said im not gonna do the camber unless u have new tyres so i thought thats fair enough so i did the new tyres and then as the wheels were of he told me the brakes were worn so i needed new discs and pads on the front......... i ended up having a £300 bill........... i was not a happy bunny..... same as motest.. i dont use them anymore as i feel they rip people of all the time..... 2 years i took my car there for its mot and it failed both times...... now i use swiftest just down my road.... never any problems....... and for tures i dont go to sh!tfit anymore but farnham tyres and exhausts as i live near farnham in aldershot anyway and always find them good to...... had my mot today and new it would fail on the front tyres so i got the new tyres...... theyre called coopers the ones on the front. friendly and kind service...... didnt tell me i need it dont but ask if i wanted it done as the camber was out and they showed me the read out sheet.

lol they were fine when i went there. The guys i had doing my car were dub nuts actually which was quite amusing
I only used them as a one off though as I couldnt get a set of 4 on a Sunday anywhere else. Normally i use Formula One just down the road from me. They are usually pretty good, and competitively priced (though they never keep 4 of any tyre in stock dammit!!)

I think you may experience some issues if you wanted the car low? But it would also depend on your tyre width choice.Tim_GTi wrote: would 8Js with an et25 fit ok?
This gti was running a set of 7J's which were I assume et32:
