Post by 1 GTI »

How hard is the fuel filter to change? Never changed one before. One thing im scared of is my tank draining all over the garage floor, that would seriously p*ss me off!! lol

they are not that hard to change and no the tank will not empty on the floor as it is pump fed and the pipes come from the top of the tank. but you may still get a little spill of fuel but it is only what is in the fuel line and inside the filter. but make sure you put it on the right way so take note on which way the flow is, there should be an arrow on the filter. take one end off at a time and fit straight onto new filter that way you cant get it wrong.

Do the pipes just pull off or have you got to have special tools?

unless they have been cut at some point going off memory you have to push pipe on then there is a plastic insert you have to pull towards the pipe and slide off the filter. if that makes any sense.
