$800~£500
with coils the shock body is threaded on a mcpherson strut at the rear i think it works with some kind of sleeve that the spring sits in so that in place of the spring there is a spring and a threaded sleve
ok mole were waiting for that pic you showed me

That's right vwpower. On the back the spring and shock are seperate. The height is adjusted by the spring perch being threaded and you basically change the height of it so the spring sits higher or lower. I will get some pics of this too.

What pic 2k?? :D

ok ill try and do a little explanation while we wait for your pics:
on the left we have the front shock wiuth the spring wrapped round it and the shoch body is threadded so that you can move the bottom perch of the spring and raise or lower the car while keeping the same spring charactaristics
in the middle there is the rear spring and the threaded sleve that i spoke of and to its right there is the rear shock

Well, here are a few taster pics. Taken with my fone so poor quality. The front, if ok at this height, will be taken lower. I'm just testing at the mo.

Here is a closeup of the gap at the rear:

Here is a pic of both the front and rear, front will hopefully being going lower, plus I had just jacked it up!

And the back again:

That looks the dog's danglies mate! Just a couple of questions:

1) Have you painted the front calipers red there? If so, how did you go about it?
2) What phone have you got, coz it the image quality is well good for a phone! I've got an Ericsson T68, but am too tight to get the camera add-on!

Must...get...coilovers...

see i said it would look sweet have you got the geo done yet and if so does it handle
the optimum position for handleing is when the bottom arms (front lower) are paralell to the deck and the rear is around 1/2" higher

Cheers Ratty :D I'm happy with the look the coilovers have given!

1) Yes I have, only the fronts so far, but Im planning on doing the rears tomorrow if the weather holds out! I got some red caliper paint from halfords. I then used a wire brush to clean the caliper up, then used warm soapy water to clean all the filth off. Then just painted em! Pretty difficult stuff to use though I reckon. Gave em 2 coats. Need re-doing now though because with taking wheels on and off lots of times, like I have done recently, they get knocked and chipped.

2) Nokia 7650 is the answer! Yeh they're not bad pics for a fone, considering it was getting dark as well :)
