Newbie with a 9n??
Newbie with a 9n??
Hello there been looking on here and seem to worked out I have just bought a 9n Polo (Why 9N???), or Mk6 I guess, well its the one that looks like the front of a Lupo.
Well I will post a pic when I have it in my possesion, and its going to be the wifes car.
Firstly, as this site members are far more knowledgable than me, wifey wants wheels asap. I rekon 17s will go just fine and am looking at some Ulbricht Dortmund alloys, anybody got any thoughts on these

17x8 though ??? Hmmm, this is a white model which looking on here doesnt seem to be that many and is a 1.4 75ps model 03 plate with 30k on it. One of the things I will want to do is possibly lower it a tad, anybody see any reason why it cant be lowered on 17s. Was thinking of eibachs, weitec, or H&r with standard shocks. Cool or not cool ??
Look for ward to many responses from you all.

Welcome to the Forum, i dont see you having any problems lowering on 17's aslong as you dont totally slam it.

Heres a picture of mine on summer wheels totally down on the front on
FK Highsport Coilovers (id recommend them) i also have adaptors reducing the offset.
look forward to seeing your white polo. is it 3dr?

Re: Newbie with a 9n??
Welcome! 9N is Volkswagen's code for this car's platform, Seat calls it 6L and the first car of this group Skoda calls 6Q (I think).wide phil wrote:Hello there been looking on here and seem to worked out I have just bought a 9n Polo (Why 9N???), or Mk6 I guess, well its the one that looks like the front of a Lupo.
The only down side is that all these variants are all just Skoda Fabias where it counts most (chassis and suspension etc).

Id be weary of the 8" on the fronts if your slamming it on coilovers, if your not going too low it should be fine.

Well shes here and wifey is well pleased. Photos will follow but cant see the point when its bog standard. Only thing is prior to picking it up the epc light and orange engine management symbol were on, the garage we bought it from had it in and rectified it, but 4 days later there back on. Any body got any clues??
Heyas welcome to the forum!
Sounds like u got urself a nice car there, i like the white ones!
With regards to the engine management light (EPC) and exhaust emissions lamp (engine symbol thingy) this sounds like there could possibly be a faulty coil pack? I've had 3 go on my car! Bit of a pain but cheapish to fix if you know how..
I've got a silver 1.2, which is the nearest to white lol!
Yeh I wanna see some pics!!!! It may be bog standard but hey it's your polo u gotta show it off!!!
Olz x
Oh sorry if any coil packs have been replaced lately, make sure the car hadn't been run by the previous owner with 1 cylinder misfiring. This would have damaged the catalytic converter and made those dash lights think it was christmas!!
Been there.. Done that... Got the T-Shirt
wont do it again!!!!
Hope its not that tho
