Polo GTI or Polo GT 130

Post by 1 GTI »

Im not sure how much the polo gt's are worth but is £7k with 50,000 miles a bit too much? Also do you guys know of any problems with them? Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Looking on Autotrader, £7,000 would seem about right for a private sale anyway. Fairly rare cars to come across, make the 6N2 GTi look common almost.

As for faults, have you tried posting in the Mk6 forum?

They are actually uber rare. Seem to hold their value pretty well like the GTI. Not sure about any model specific problems. Probably just niggly things like exhaust sensors/leaking washer pipes - the usual Polo traits

they're just expensive so not many people bought them when you could get a golf for less money.

so there aren't many about. but I don't think it's the demand that makes them expensive - I think it's the initial cost.

Whats the engine size and specs (0-60?)? I'm guessing it's got 130bhp

1.9 TDI, 0-60 in 9.2 off the top of my head. Will be faster than a GTI though in gear probably, it's got a shed load of torque

Polo GT has the same engine as my ibiza, and will have 130bhp and around 228 ftlb torque!
performance figures are around 9.4secs 0-60 and it will do 130 mph, not that i've tried

but the best bit is it will return a very good economy, i've had 70mpg on a 50 mile trip . on the way back from southampton (150miles) it averaged 68.8mpg!!

70mpg?!

Thats more than double what I'm getting at the moment!

Which is really bad considering I've just had a service and drive reasonably sparingly :?

i thought it was a one off as it just touched 70mpg and then dropped slightly as we came out of some roadworks, but then i repeated it on a longer drive and held the 70mpg figure!

70mpg is possible but think around 50mpg if you drive normally....

yeah i did forget to mention that i was driving rather grandad like, although it was mainly motorway work so i was averaging 70-75mph. the 6th gear is very useful, 70mph in 6th ticks the engine over at something like 1700-2000 rpm!
