EPC Light

Post by parappali »

Hey Guys I have a VW Polo MKV 1.4S on an X reg plate with 36000 miles on the clock. Yesterday the ECP light came on the dash and according to the handbook it’s an engine matter although my friend told me it was electric? Anyway does anybody know what it could be? The car starts fine first time and runs smoothly with no apparent faults. The car runs perfect with all lights etc working.

Could anybody recommend a VW specialist in the SW London area (Wandsworth, Mithcam) where I could get it checked? Really don’t want to spend 50 odd pound per hour for VW to diagnose the problem.

Help really appreciated!

Check your brake lights, the EPC light comes on if your brake light switch goes. Happened to me.

If they are working, then yeah you'll be best off to get it checked out.

Turned out to be the oxygen sensor currently being fixed, but have a brand new golf as a courtesy car which is nice.
