It is a shame about the polo, but with anny car i own i'm losing interest. I cant really do any more to it so its time to move on. Had it 2 1/2 years which is the longest i've had a car by far, so its served its time well.

$1200-$1400 is well good, the price from vw is something like £8000 each! Will eventually buy the right seats for it, but at this point in time i'll be happy with a set of gti recaro's.

I think your right about the grille chris, it certainly looks like one. I think i'll probably end up making one out of some lower bumper mesh honeycombe stylee. No one seems to make one for the mk4 at all, every one i've seen is homemade.

Its either ABT or Oettinger I think... nice little project! You can just stick a pair of standard Golf mk4 Recaros in whilst you sort out the Koenigs :)

I think I've seen that one before, if not then I've deffo seen one for sale with a missing interior.

I should imagine the OEM wheels were proably taken at the same time as the interior Phil, can't have anything nice nowdays!

Nice choice of car/colour though Andy, deffo going to be my next one but the MK5 8)

The poor thing had the wheels and seats knicked off the driveway. Somehow they got in without doing any damage though. Unfortunately they pinched all the aluminium trim off the dash as well so gotta get all that an all (around £250 for all of it).

Recaro's will surfice until i can save some money for the proper seats, just hope i can locate a set it time.

I'm buying the car without any wheels, hence i needed to order some before picking it up. I have to bolt the calipers back on as well as they've been removed in order to fit the 16's.

LM replica's are £705 delivered without tyres, so around £930 with tyres. I dread t think how much genuine ones are. These rims cost me £550 delivered with tyres so i cant complain!

Unbelievable :x

Someone on my local forum sanded back the ordinary trim back to the metal and got a reasonable finish, but still not the real thing

nice one Phil, can't believe the little pikeys not only nicked the wheels and seats but also the dash trim!
all ya gotta do is look for a golf 1.4 riding very high on 18" R32 alloys with leather seats and dodgy stuck on dash trim!

I found a site yesterday wth LM's on and you're looking at between £464 - £569 per wheel

Hence i bought what i did! I'm happy with my choice, think they'll look quite smart. They should turn up tomorrow.

On another note, i've sorted a trailer out and all funds are looking good so all should be well for saturday collection. I've booked it in for mot at my work on monday, only thing i'm really concerned about is the log book. They aparantly bought the car from the insurance company under the agreement they'd get the log book, but they haven't received it yet. I'm fairly certain there's no way i can tax the car without it, with i intended to do on monday.

the paint looks like a matt finish in that photo rather than the deep pearl blue?

nice looking project you have there!

i no this might sound daft, but i thought the brakes wouldn't fit over anything smaller than whats already on there, and those wheels (v6 4motion??) are smaller i think! i may be making this all up of course!

doesn't really make sense mate! i think u mean wheels rather than brakes?
those wheels that are on the car are only on there coz the real ones were nicked and they had to disconnect the calipers so that they could be fitted so that the car is moveable.

ahh, that last bit makes it all become clear! i was going for "the brakes were too big to fit under anything smaller than the standard alloys!" so disconnecting the calipers makes sense!

i really should read things in more detail! (i got too interested in the pictures) :P
