Installing a new Gear Knob

hi, i want to install a illuminated gear knob on my 9n.

anyone know how to do this. and how easy it is to do.

it also need to be connect it to the Car lights (the cigarette Light has been suggested). so it will come on when the car lights come on.

I imagine you remove the gearknob by lifting up the gaitor and "inverting" it, then there will probably be a clip you need to free off from the top of the gearknob to release the knob. This clip might be tough to release so be careful.

as for wiring, I have no idea but it can't be too difficult to grab a wire that only comes on with the lights. personally I'd have it lit the whole time.

Try using two short small screwdrivers to open up the crimped section a bit - then just lift the kn0b up. Do not cut or destroy this clip as any other one you fit will end up fouling the gaitor and it will get cut through. To refasten this clip, just nip it up using blunt face-cutters or something similar.
