engine vibration noise

Post by markdavies »

hi there. im after some help on an issue i have with my 6n2 polo match se. seems ever since i had the car there has been a horrible vibration noise comming from the front of the car at low revs. i think its got louder lately but was wondeing if there was any common problems to do with engine, gearbox or body vibration noise? id like to take it to a garage to check it out but cant afford to at the min so can anyone point me in the right direction? :?

As far as I'm aware they don't even change your box oil on a service, they just top it up if they feel it necessary. I would just change the whole lot

Sorry dude, wasn't treading on your feet there! I was just advising Mark that gearbox oil won't get changed unless you get it changed, so it would be a good idea to go ahead and change it all

thanks for the advise guys. ive got soem gearbox oil so on weekend just wanted to check it has some in and if not top it up. as for listening to the sound i cant hear where its commin from. i think its drivers side near the front wheel as i asked someone to listne to it for a second opinion and they said it sounded like body vibration? ive heard the gearboxes are weak on these cars so just assumed this was the fault :( hope topin it up with oil helps or this could cost big coin to fix
