Haha.. 9n chainbelt...

Post by Dubnutty »

Ok guys I've just seent he topic for the 1.4 cambelt change, well..
I know on the 3 cylinder petrol engine the cam is actually chain driven (whether its a 6v or 12v).
I'm now approaching 80,000 miles of (to be honest!) very harsh driving!
Does anyone on here know if they are maintenance free?
I know that over time they can slack off, and then you get a slight rattling, and this gets worse till it snaps...
Happened on my half brother's old skool Renault 5..
Anyone know about this?
Thanks! Olz x

with a chain there is usualy no set time for a change, its generally done when it gets noisey, stretched etc...
