ADVICES POLO 1.4 TDI

Post by jacint »

Hi, I'm new in the forum. I'm writing from Catalonia and I've bought a Polo 1.4 tdi 80 HP.

How's that car? Satisfaction guaranteed? I have had several diesel cars bur never a TDI. Some said that is a fragile engine, is that for real?

Advices and comments will be wellcome.

Thanks from Catalonia!!!

Welcome to the site!

The 1.4 TDI is reliable as far as I know - it's a 3 cylinder version of the 1.9TDI I believe, so as far as stresses on the engine go it's pretty much the same.

Enjoy the car and get some pictures up!

Thank you, David,

In Catalonia, three cilinders engines are'nt well known and I was guessing if I do the right thing.

If another person knows anything else about this engine, please, tell me.

i own a 1.4 TDI and i love it its so reliable, you will be fine with it it might be a 3 cylinder but nothing wrong with that, its a pd long life engine so keep the services and parts up to date and everything will be dinky doo

Hi again,

Thank you very much for your answers, I was in doubt because of the tree cilinders. It's uncommon but I actually have no reasons to think it'd be worse than a four cilinder engine.

By the way, how much does it cost, in Uk? I've bought a tdi 80 hp United, clima, fogg lights, five doors, total cost: 14000 euros.

And yes, now Catalonia is a nation inside Spain, but you bet: we'll be independent in the next decade 8)

Yes, that's the price for a tdi 80 hp, white, 5 doors, anti fogg lites, display multi control and climatic: 14.200 euros.

Is it in Uk expensive or cheap?

Looking at VW UK that's £10,225 here but I think if you've bought a new one this should be in the mkVII section?!

That's about 13,300 Euros for a "match" 80HP TDI
