When you know its worth owning a VW

Post by M@Turner »

Well, today i gave my car a quick clean and whilst i was parked up waiting for my mate in the local car park, this totally random guy came upto the car asking me loads of questions! He asked what spec was it, engine size, weather it had a glass roof  (haha), and he started telling me how nice it was and that his daughter has just learned to drive and although she's been saying to nearly every car, i want that...i want that....i want that, she's says this is the nicest cars she's seen!!!!! :D

My mate came back mid conversation and i felt quite rude i was gonna have to tell the guy i must get off!!

So, as you lot may imagine, got a big grin on my face knowing that my dub is attracting interest! :D

It does give you that good feeling inside! Had it a coupel of times with my polo!

Had it on the ferry back from ireland with the corrado....parked the car up, and went up on deck, realised i forgot my wallet, so went back down and caught a lad with his wee kid havinga good wee look at the wheels and interior! Then asked me about it! Felt great :D

I was cleaning my car a few weekends ago and these 2 kids that live down my road were looking at it (they can only be about 10).

One of them came up to me and put on this very grown up voice and said 'thats a very nice car, has it been done up?' so I tried to explain what I'd done to it in a way a 10yr old would understand.

He went back to his friend and I could hear them saying 'I'd like a car like that when I can drive, would you like one?'

Quite cute really. Normally I just get old people telling me that cleaning my car will make it rain!

I always had people coming up to me when i had my beetle, mainly to ask me if it was yellow or green

I did get a few nice comments from passers by about how nice it looked and how big the wheels were (19's) etc.

i don't get a lot of interest in mine to be honest! mind you round here, it would have to have 20 inch rims, sit about 3ft high off the ground and have neons to be looked at

Hollie on the other hand has had quite a lot of attention with her car, a random guy was walking past her car when she was parking up at work last week and just said "nice car" :D

i get the occasional nice car comment....but annoyingly i get alot more attention from the chavy generation in my beeza, ppl trying to race me left right and center....if i give it some beans though the whole street looks my way (boy racer in me! haha) whooosh pish

the polo when it was slammed on RM's used to get people stopping and starring at the shiny dish, i had kids come up to me & ask about it, also had a 10yr old or so walk past with his mum as i was polishing my RM's, heard him say "mum look at those wheels..must be well expensive!" hehe

hehe yeah it is a nice feeling

i remember about two years ago i was going through the high street, traffic was backed up and there was this group of Japanese tourists taking pics of my car (when it was on coilovers with 16's) and one of them came upto the window and said in a very strong japanese accent, "that vw polo" some strange reason i replied "ya" hmm but im not german, must have been the car talking :D

Yeah it's such a good feeling, was last night actually I parked outside a chippy and i heard some chavvy girls say "I like that car" ....shame it was chavs though

The most comments I got was with my old GTi, had some bloke come up to me in his boxster and asking me loads of questions, and when the gearbox went and I ended up stopping on a countryroad, a few blokes drove past, slammed on...asked if I needed a lift, and then started talking to me about the car again :D

Funnily enough I was with a mate today checking out skatespots in carparks, and he spotted a mark1 MR2 in the middle of a load of business cars (he's planning on getting one so we went to investigate). And out of all the cars there, it was the only one with someone in it!!

The owner got out and starting talking about it, it put a massive smile on his face to see that his car was getting interest

I can only remember some kids probably about 15 shouting at me "Nice car" and giving the thumbs up. Other than that think I've only just seen people looking.
