ECP Front bumpers

Post by mart1n »

Has anyone had any experience with 16v bumpers from Euro Car Parts. Their catalogue lists 2 different ones a genuine one (Part no 821440870) or a replacement part (part no 821440871) not sure what the quality of this is like as its £100 cheaper than the genuine one. Anybody bought one of these who can testify as to there quality?

I think someone mentioned getting a replica and it had the splitter built into it, so he couldn't add a GTI splitter to it

Nice, nothing but good reviews for the cheap option :D that'll save me a bit of money to get it painted. Did anyone do their's themselves or did you get someone to paint it professionally? if so how much did it cost? It's a flat colour not a metallic.

ummm primered it myself and filled in the top slits bit myself, it comes already primered but apparently its just a "transport primer" so i gave it another coat. Remeber it comes with no grilles or toehook cover or splitter. Think i paid about £60 to get it painted.

nah the 8 valve dosnt fit its slightly too small. I couldnt find the grilles anywhere and didnt wanna pay vw price so made my own put of a sheet of mesh which cost me £20. The tow hook cover and splitter came from vw tho.

cool yea making your own grill/mesh sound the best and cheapest way to go, me being a skint flint and all :P
gonna have to go get the splitter from vw then but might just smooth the tow eye while smoothing the top side slits, depends, cheers again JoeG
does any other splitter fit tht look half decent, not any big poky ones though, not a fan :)

If ur after all the grilles for the bumper m8 i posted somewhere in the forum all the offical VW prices, thats where i got all mine from, inc spoiler but it was about £80 in total for it all. If ur not wanting to pay that for it then try and source them from the breakers yards. Noz suggested to me GSF they may do them

Hope u get a bargin m8
