Bye bye GT Hello GTI

Post by Snake-Plissken »

Hi Everybody,

This is my first ever post so hope it works ok. Its only taken me 5 years to actually do one! sorry :(

I say goodbye to my trusty MkVI GT on Friday which has served me well the past 3 years.

But I say a BIG hello to a nice shiny new Polo GTI :D

This will be my 4th Polo, my first being a MKIV 1.4 CL then a MKVI 1.4 100BHP sport, and then the MKVI GT

Although none of you have been aware, you have all been a great help on this Forum in choosing my cars over the past 5 years. I`m amazed at the amount of stuff you know :D . So a BIG thankyou for all your words of wisdom and chat, and keep it up. :D

Anyway enough rambling, here is a pic of my GT that will be off to the garage very soon. :(

I`ll post some pics of the GTI when I get a chance 8)

Cheers

I take it you;ve bought the new GTi? What colour/amount of doors/ extras did you go for?

Seems like you've missed out The Best mark! looking at your car history :)

Cheers Tim_GTI & Pip_polo :D

There are indeed a lot of helpful friendly guys and gals on here.

I've gone for a 3 door, shadow blue with 6 disc cd changer. :D

I`m a bit of a blue boy, my other cars were Chagral Blue, Summer Blue & Raven Blue. 8)

I was tempted by red or black but thought I`d go for the blue. :D

I did indeed miss out on the MKV unfortunately. LOL

Perhaps one day I will have a collection of Polos and have one as good as yours Tim_GTI :D

Cheers

Hi Guys

Just picked up the GTI a few hours ago, itching to take it for a proper spin. :D

The garage were very good and kept the car in the showroom all week, so it stayed dry and shiny. Very happy with the Shadow Blue colour. :D

Will post pics as soon as I can. :D

No plans straight away, but what do you guys recommend?

after having 1 of these previous and getting another, which i have now, i cant recommend engine work highly enough, as much as you can afford haha it really brings it to life and makes it a real GTi, other than that, chassis work to stiffen it up and make it handle,

mine goes like a bullet now at 220 BHP and handles like a go cart

im next saving up for a quaiffe or pelequin limited slip diff to really control the power delivery to the floor, but these are verrrry pricey

its a great little car though, with absolutely huge tried and tested mods available being the 20vT lump
