Cold Starts Problem

Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem or know what is causing this...

Basically, when I start my car in the morning it drives fine for a few minutes, then the engine either cuts out or stutters and then limits the engine to 5000 revs.

I turn the engine off and on again and then everything is fine for the rest of the journey.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Ok,

I took it to a local garage who plugged it into their computer to discover that it has got a faulty RPM sensor.

Does anyone know how much these RPM sensors are?

Also, is this the same sensor as the camshaft sensor as I had that replaced about 3 months ago?
