Over the last few weeks my windscreen has really started to annoy me when I have to use my wipers. Every time they wipe across there's what looks like this greasy stuff spread all over.
It isn't really a problem when just using the windscreen washer 'cause a few seconds after the wipers stop it'll disappear. However, when it's raining it can make it difficult to see
I've tried rubbing the windscreen hard when washing the car and have also tried cleaning the wiper blades but it still happens. Any suggestions?
Get some glass polish! is very cool stuff very rearly use my wippers at all rearly as this stuff is so good water just runs off!
Also i was told by a master teck at work 2 cut a potato in half then polish my screen with it becouse its just starch in the polish that makes it work! Not tryed this yet though!
Alun, I seem to get this same problem sometimes....and that's with aero blades and glass polish etc....so not 100% sure! Doesn't seem to do it all the time though which is strange!
this may seem like a bit of a random technique. But I use white vinegar to clean my windows - a mate of mine once suggested it to me, and after taking the p*ss for a good half hour I tried it - excuse the pun, but I havent looked back since. The reason why it is so good is because it is a degreaser and take away all the film of grease etc off your windscreen. I also use it in the inside too - its really good to get off the adhesive from the stickers that car garages leave on your rear window, just make sure you air it afterwards, otherwise your car with smell like a chip shop
Hope this helps, but as mentioned before if this doesnt work try changing your wipers
yeh give the blades a good wipe with a cloth dabbed in vinegar, until you stop getting black stuff on the cloth. you will get loads of scumm off and it should help until you get some new ones.
